Text Box: “I am proud to support tax cuts that make sense for our country and save dollars for our families.”
                  		  		 --Congresswoman Kay Granger
Congresswoman Kay Granger believes that a strong economy is part of a strong country.  That’s why she has worked hard to support tax cuts that create jobs and growth for America.  In her first year in Congress, 1997, she got passed into law legislation to create prepaid college tuition accounts so that parents can save for college.  She has also voted for a number of tax cuts that helped create great growth in the American economy, including reductions in the marriage penalty, the death tax and the capital gains tax.
But Congresswoman Granger believes more can be done.  She wants to make the 2001 tax cuts permanent.  And she believes a more equitable and simplified tax doe is needed.  That’s why she supports repealing the income tax and replacing it with a sales tax or a flat tax.  This would create more jobs and keep more money in the hands of working families.
She is also working to increase economic security by supporting energy independence, free trade and less federal regulation.
Congresswoman Granger’s philosophy is simple: people know better than the government how to spend their money. And so she will keep fighting for ways to keep money out of Washington and in your pockets.
