MESSAGE FROM KAY: THE AMERICAN PEOPLE DON’T LIKE OBAMACARE

Monday, January 18th, 2010

So what do the American people think of the job President Obama is doing on health care?

According to a CBS News poll, 54% disapprove and only 36% approve.

I’m not surprised. The American people know that we can’t lower the cost of health care by creating mandates and fines. And the American people know that we have too much government involvement in health care already. The answer to health care reform comes from common sense ideas I’ve been pushing in Congress for years, like providing tax incentives to families to buy and own their own health care.

Obamacare is bad medicine. And the American people know it. That’s why I am continuing to fight against it in Washington.

No New Mandates?

Wednesday, January 13th, 2010

Now that the Democrats are finalizing their health care bill, I find it amusing to hear them say that there are no new regulations or mandates in the bill.

Really? I checked and found out that the Democratic health care bill includes:

1032 mentions of the word “require”
121 mentions of the word “penalty”
and 254 mentions of the word “tax”

Make no mistake about it: the bill that I fought against and that I continue to fight against will put huge new burdens, taxes and mandates on every citizen and every business in this country.
